Click here for link! That's Brianna. She sings, dances, and generally has a lot of fun. You should watch the rest of her videos here. Her brother Jalen is awesome too.

Here's a Boing Boing TV video featuring David Byrne and his crazy musical installation, Playing the Building.
A couple of Santogold remixes and an original track by a friend:

Radiohead is streaming a webcast which they are calling "Thumbs Down" as we speak at Radiohead.tv. So far it's been Radiohead performing, someone spinning music to strange moving and still images, and footage of everyone just sitting around a table. I think the performances are live, though I have not been able to find the exact details online.
From what I've read, they did a live 'testcast' last night and performed Bjork's Unravel (see below). I've had a lot of fun watching it so far.
UPDATE: Right now they are playing one of my favorite songs: Umbabarauma by Ponta de Lanca Africano. This is a lot of fun!
UPDATE 2: I do think this is live as Thom just came on and talked about it a bit. It's almost like they are hosting a variety show. They're now playing a video for "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" from their new album.
I've been thinking a lot lately about the current state of music and performance. There are plenty of amazing musicians and performers out there these days, but the state of pop music--what the masses listen to--is kind of sad. There are some amazing innovators right now in music, but it just ain't what it used to be:
The Nicholas Brothers with the most amazing tap dancing performance I have ever seen:
Ella doing her thing like no one else:
The Beatles of course:
Led Zeppelin - one of my favorite bands of all time:
Coney Island will stay open through next season. I am very happy to hear that we can enjoy Burlesque at the Beach once again.
...until now
This was his performance in "The Last Waltz" directed by Martin
Scorsese about The Band's farewell concert filmed in 1976, released in
1978. I thought the movie was interesting and very well shot and directed,
but I couldn't really get into The Band itself. Luckily the concert is chock full of amazing guest performers including Joni Mitchell, Muddy
Waters, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Staple Singers, Eric Clapton, Ronnie
Hawkins...
Here is Joni's performance; I think she's just simply amazing. She's one of my favorite singer/songwriters of all time.
To have naturally raised meats and organic beans in our burritos? Apparently not!
I ran into some very nice folks from Chipotle at Farm Aid a couple weeks back (working with OROE to make sure folks recycled/composted at the show). It was an eye-opening conversation.
I've been going to Chipotle for the last year or so and always felt mildly guilty considering their association with McDonald's. But the Chipotle peeps gave me the scoop - McDonald's fully divested their shares last year so Chipotle is free to be a great company. They use local, naturally raised meats as much as supply allows (100% in NY stores), as well as organic beans and rBGH-free sour cream. Hence their presence at Farm Aid. They call it FWI - Food With Integrity.
I had a lot to thank my new Chipotle friends for - besides freeing me from the fast food guilt, they also gave me a coupon for a free burrito and some chapstick ("guac-stick" it's called). And as if that weren't enough, I went back for lunch the next week and once again got a free burrito - this time for simply bringing back the bag from my previous lunch.
Check out their fun website. Good stuff.
